Generative AI is quickly being adopted to improve productivity for a number of jobs and tasks in our everyday lives. Typically, when people think of AI-generated content, they think of text-based outputs such as writing computer code or drafting customer support emails. However, my work focuses on exploring image generation.
For my Eckardt Scholar Capstone Project at Lehigh University I wanted to explore the full capabilities of LLMs and test the boundaries of AI image generation. The goal was to examine how generative AI could improve productivity from the perspective of a graphic designer by creating digital assets that can later be used to construct larger works of art. Today, this is a very manual and labor intensive process that requires deep knowledge and practice with tools like Adobe Photoshop.

Project Goals:
1 – Develop prompt engineering techniques and strategies to overcome challenges and minimize amount of manual work required in tools like Adobe Photoshop
2 – Compare OpenAI DALL-E, Adobe Firefly, and Midjourney, and determine which LLM is best suited for each design project while considering both efficiency and final output.
