A Shaker Box is a handmade oval box, used for storing items, and is linked with the Shaker culture because of their value of utility and uniformity. 

At the beginning of the project, I was given two long, thin, straight boards of wood and two thick rectangular pieces to make my box. When I received these pieces, I stared at the oval Shaker Box my teacher had made and then at my flat rectangular boards of wood. I had no idea how these straight boards were going to turn into an oval Shaker Box.
