WHAT'S A ZINE?
A small, self-published often handmade booklet that focuses on a particular topic or personal expression. Think of it as a mini magazine, like a pocket edition.
Often quite simple in production, a classic zine can be made by folding a single sheet of paper into eighths, cutting a slit along the center fold, and collapsing it into a mini booklet.
Zines are known for their DIY scrappiness, visual experimentation, personal voice, small-scale distribution, and a format where anything, from doodles to essays, goes!
